Quality forceps are as essential to good carp care as an unhooking matt or a bottle of carp treatment.

 

At times it’s inevitable that a hook will bury deeply, or be in an awkward position making it difficult to lever out cleanly using gentle finger pressure. Using forceps makes hook removal far easier and less stressful for both you and the fish!

 

These 5” short-nosed forceps will allow you to get a really firm hold of the hook, even if there is only a relatively small section of metal to grip onto.

 

Gently rotate the hook, withdrawing it along the same angle that it penetrated, being mindful to be as gentle as possible, avoiding any damage.
